State of California – Environmental Health Investigations Branch (EHIB)

EHIB studies and explains how the health of our environment affects health. They provide information that can help reduce human exposure to harmful environmental risks. EHIB’s mission is to protect the health of all Californians by identifying environmental hazards, partnering with communities to build their capacity, and promoting healthy environments.

California also has a Community Education & Exposure Prevention Section (CEEPS) that operates under its EHIB. The CEEPS is the center for Branch expertise in public participation, risk communication, exposure prevention education, and health communications to increase health and environmental equity. California has clearly incorporated a focus on health and environmental equity into their programs. Florida should as well.
